Slashers Golf Society Annual Meeting 6th August 2010 - Report
The annual Slashers Golf Society competition took place on Friday 6th August 2010 at Brickhampton Court Golf Complex. A total of 95 members teed off on a well prepared course, hoping for a lucky break in the weather, which duly happened!
Once again the ‘Slashers’ enjoyed a fine day amongst sunshine and good friends. This year saw an increase in playing members, including two ladies ‘four balls’, nine serving members of the Rifles and comrades from as far as Canada and South Africa.
The event was superbly hosted by the resident staff of Brickhampton Court who had prepared a fine track, food and drink refreshment both on and off the course, culminating in and exceptional buffet supper. This year the society supported ‘The Rifles Charities’ with many players donating their financial winnings to the fund. A charity auction and prize raffle followed the dinner with the main prize being kindly donated by Mr. David Greaves.

Well another year has passed with much to celebrate – many new members have joined, and the support for a much need charity well received. The handicap committee will be sitting down during the quiet months and everyone will receive their new adjusted society handicaps based on previous year’s results.
